IntroductionThere is a need for effective treatments for erectile dysfunction (ED), which is the inability to achieve or maintain an erection sufficient enough to perform sexual intercourse. However, there is no specific treatment for ED in the Philippines. The main objective of this study was to investigate the efficacy of dapoxetine hydrochloride (Dapoxetine) as first-line treatment for ED in the Philippines.
Methods and resultsThe treatment in the present study was done as follows:
ResultsThe mean age of the study subjects was 68.54 (13.57-94.07) years. The mean BMI of the study subjects was 28.71 (0.91-89.07) kg/m2. The mean number of sexual partners of the study subjects was 4.41 (1.25-7.35). The mean number of sexual partners of the study subjects was 4.56 (1.28-10.63).
ConclusionThe efficacy of dapoxetine as first-line treatment for ED in the present study was demonstrated. It was possible to use it as a first-line treatment for ED in the Philippines, which was effective as well as safe. Further studies are needed to investigate its safety and efficacy.
